Western Square Dance & Workshop
Western Square Dancing as we do it in South Lyon, involves about 100 movements which
are progressively learned and mastered. No experience is necessary
for our dances on the first Tuesday of each month. Our first Tuesday dances are a mixed program
of easy level dances which are walked thru for beginners, and Plus/Mainstream dances for our experienced dancers. On
other Tuesdays, we dance at the Plus and Mainstream Level, depending on who is attending that night. If you're interested in lessons, come to a dance on the First Tuesday of the month and talk to the
caller about it. Western Square Dancing is more challenging complicated than Traditional Square
Dancing (above) and is much more suited to those who wish to square dance on a regular basis, rather than
those who only come very occasionally. Bringing a partner is strongly
encouraged but not required (we tend to have more ladies than men
usually).
Day & Time: 1st, 3rd, & 4th Tuesdays of
each month(schedule varies by month, see below for dates) (Sept-May)
7:00pm-9:30 pm
(The first Tuesday of each month, will be an Olde Tyme Square Dance, open to beginners with no experience)
