Come visit one of our two square dance clubs in South Lyon:
The Old-Tyme American Square Dance group appeals to newcomers and families. The South Lyon Square Dance Club
teaches and dances the more complex "Western Style" Square Dances.

Modern Western Square Dancing

Modern Western Square Dance & Workshop
Mainstream Level (Callerlab basics 1-69)
Western Square Dancing as we do it in South Lyon, involves about 69 movements (the Basic/Mainstream
Program) which are progressively learned and mastered through a series of lessons. No experience is necessary
for our first Tuesday dances, but western square dancing requires lessons and good attendance is required. Lessons
start periodically. If you're interested in lessons, come to a dance on the First Tuesday of the month and talk
to the caller about it. Western Square Dancing is more complicated than Traditional Square Dancing (above) and is much
more suited to those who wish to square dance on a regular basis, rather than those who only come occasionally. Bringing
a partner is strongly encouraged but not required (we tend to have more ladies than men usually).

Day & Time: Every Tuesday 7:00pm-9:30 pm
(except July 21, 2009)
Location: VFW Hall
125
E. McHattie St.
South
Lyon, MI 48148
(see map below)
Cost: $4 per person
Great fun for couples!
